Knife Defense Series — Low Upwards Knife Stab Defense Situation/ Description The attacker takes out a knife and tries to stab you in an upwards motion aimed to your lower abdominal area. Steps: 1. When you see that the attacker is holding a knife, running away is your best option, if your attacker is very close and you can’t run then calm down; Focusing on his weapon will cause you to panic, which can be fatal. Calm you attacker down; do not provoke him to attack you. 2. When the attacker thrusts the knife towards you in an upwards motion, grab above his wrist using both of your hands. Make sure that you close the gap between your hands when executing this step. 3. Simultaneously, spring outward with your lower body so that when you stop his wrist the length of the knife does not reach your body. 4. Holding his wrist with two hands, take two steps forward. The first step should put you close to the attacker on the side of his body. After step diagonally forward, move under his arm with your whole body, this is done while rotating inward so that at the end of the second step you will be behind him, facing his back in control of his wrist and arm. This whole time you have power over his wrist of his hand that is holding the knife. 5. Once you are behind the attacker pick up his arm and bend his wrist upwards at once. This action may break his wrist; he will release most of his grip on the knife which will easily allow you to disarm him. 6. Throw the knife out of his hands …
